Position Description

Pay Grade: Manager 2

This position is responsible for providing direction and assistance in creating 
new policies or revising existing policies; and maintains official college 
policies and procedures documentation.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the 
essential job functions satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made 
to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions 
herein described.

*Provides direction and assistance to divisions in creating new policies or 
revising existing policies

*Reviews all policies and procedures for compliance with the college's 
documentation rules or guidelines

*Develops and maintains official college policies and procedures on the 
college's website in collaboration with ITS

*Collaborates with communications staff to ensure compliance with college style 
guide standards in the presentation of policies and procedures

*Develops and manages a schedule for timely review of policies and procedures 
by appropriate divisions

Communicates policy and procedure updates to Wake Tech employees and the NCCCS 
office

Maintains information in the Wake Tech College Catalog, Employee Handbook, and 
Policy Library and coordinates the review and revision process

Promotes policies and procedures functions in the college by providing customer 
service, training, and professional development

Oversees  project management for estimating, monitoring, and assessing projects 
and department performance

Serves on the Policies and Procedures Committee for input and advice on college 
policies and procedures

Promotes continuous improvement by completing an annual applied benchmark 
project on an individual or a group basis

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and updating 
content management systems such including Drupal and Sharepoint

Intermediate working knowledge of other MS Office products

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Excellent skills and proficiency with proper use of grammar

Advanced proofreading and editing skills

Ability to perform normal duties with minimal supervision

Effective presentation skills and ability to conduct training sessions related 
to college policy and procedures

Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines consistently

Effective collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving skills


Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a field related to Policy Development, Communication, 
Business, or Computer Information

Three years working with policies and procedures or related experience


Preferences:

Master's degree

Experience updating websites, use of content management systems and html code

Experience working with educational or student related policies and procedures
