Kia ora Su, all Unfortunately I can't be at the get-together either but all my best and I look forward to hearing the outcomes.
Regarding your questions I think the main issue is capacity - there many things ADA can conceivably do, but what can it really do? The resources at our disposal are the time and energy of the participants.... With Fibreculture we definitely always found value in the meetings and get-togethers - they provide an opportunity to share our experiences and learn from our differences, and foster informal working relationships that keep energy circulating. So I say "yes" to the meeting. With respect to the other initiatives, I think these are best approached on a Working Group basis - my experience is that you need someone or sometwo who take responsibility for moving the project forward, though you can keep the membership of the groups open to whoever wants to be involved. For this to happen the broader ADA network has to feel comfortable delegating authority to a chair to coordinate the group, and the chair/group leader has to take responsibility for reporting back to the larger network on important developments and decisions on the project. I'm happy to be involved in discussions on or off-list about organisation (or non-organisation :) ) methods after the meeting.
