Hi folks, hope your well!

wont to of coarse), enjoy the company and the wonderful array of fantastic
music, films and performances by a stunning cast of artists, musicians and
film makers!!!
All the while helping me (Sam Hamilton) raise money for my up coming 4 month
project recording sound environments in the depths of the Amazon jungle of
South America!!! (more info on that at the bottom of the project)

Special performances by:

Empirical
- Shimsaws and tape machines -
enter the amplified world of Len Lye-kinetic-sculpture-looking Shimsaws;
varying metal instruments and home build tape machines that resonate like
chimes blurring through the deeps of the space, created by master engineer
Marcel Bear.

Sam Morrison & James McCarthy
- Invented instruments
Sam and James are two of Auckland's most unique instrumentalists fuelled by
a dissatisfaction with the musical limitation enforced by the limitation of
available musical machines. So, instead of trying to bend traditional
instruments to there will they build their own utilising 2 of the most
beautiful, clever, funny and invigorating imaginations to be found.

Rosy Parlane
- Electronic music -
This is the closest beautiful electronic music will get to morphing the
dizziest height's of the human legacy of introspective, complex and layered
musical intuition with the pure system biology of existence. A web of sonic
strands that connects the fields of tonality with the neurology of
biochemical telepathy.

Dean Roberts & Derek Gehring
- Electric guitar, 16mm film projections -
Purr-whirl-clatter-hum-drift-tone-cloud-thunder-sustain-twange-tangle-bundle-cluster-lullabilically-raft
upon a sea of strings and electricity with layers of obscured cinematic
brickolagical moments from the vaults of moving image accidents printed in
celluloid.

The Parasitic Fantasy Band with guest Adam Willetts
- Expanded cinema performance by Sam Hamilton and Eve Gordon
exploring the world of antique cinema from the depths of early mystical
cinema neuroticism through to expanded cinematic environments and
transcendental experience, materialistic experimentation and mechanical
malfunction, Sam Hamilton and Eve Gordon will rip shreds through the light
particle's and sever your cognitive ability opening it to the ether.
With special guest artist Adam Willetts on acoustic Indian harmonium.

Special pre-release of limited addition album
'Amazon Untitled'

This limited addition album is so very special that, due the unusual
circumstances of the recordings and the even more unusual circumstance of
the distribution technique of the release, it will only be available for
purchase before the album is produced or even recorded!!!
The release will consist of field recordings and other recordings from the
jungle of the central Amazon basin in Brazil.
There will be a very special focus of the relationship of 'location' and the
physical process's involved in the removal of the sounds found on the
release from there original existence (as biologically functional elements
within a impermanent ecology) to data sound files listened to by the
purchaser of the limited addition CDR release completely re-contextualised
as entertainment/interest/art on the other side of the planet.
In other words, the only place on earth this release will be available is
from its original location of the sounds (the jungle). which means I will be
posting each person who pre-purchased the album their copy of it in the mail
direct from Manaus (the nearest post office to where I will be working in
the jungle), and once I have left Manaus the, release will never be
available again! Meaning the only way to get it is before its even made!!!
The process of this will be you buying the album before you get it. when you
pay the money you will be asked to write down your name, address and email
address and in return you will receive a receipt. A few months later you
will personally receive a package in the mail direct from the Amazon rain
forest in Brazil containing the special limited addition album.
*The album will or might include other such things as writings, maps or
pictures.
'Amazon Untitled' will be available for pre-purchase from September 15th, if
you are interested in purchasing 'Amazon Untitled' please get in contact
with me via email or in person.

The Amazon Resounding Project info:

From Nov 1st 07, with portable recorder and a bunch of microphones, I am
going to be spending nearly 4 months extensively exploring, investigating
and recording the acoustic environments found within the extraordinarily
noisy world of the Amazon jungle of South America.
Over these months I am going to be working primarily in two locations.
Firstly I will be attending a workshop/residency with Spanish biologist and
sound artist Francisco Lopez and 8 other artists from around the world in
the annually flooded forests found right in the very middle of the Amazon
basin in Brazil at a place called Mamori lake. From there I will be
travelling west to Peru where I will then spend nearly 3 months working
independently in a the scientific Los Amigos Research Field Station where I
will have the ability to explore and record sound in one of the largest
expanses of pristine tropical rain forest left on earth.
This trip is very much real and very much what you might expect of
traditional tropical jungle exploration, extreme heat and humidity, an
infinity in biting insects, strange animals including anaconda's, jaguar's,
monkeys electric eel's etc, unbelievably complex ecological systems and
symbiotic relationships, endless carpets of green jungle…. and the
occasional oil mine the size of England, cattle and soy bean farms half the
size of France, gorilla's and drug cartels, dieing Indian cultures etc
It is common knowledge that the Amazon is home to the biggest and most
diverse concentration of life on earth, so it should be no surprise to hear
that these environments are home to the most incredibly complex,
ecologically developed and unique biologically generated sound phenomena on
earth.
It should also be said that, although sound, as an element of nature, is of
equal importance to these environments as say botany, it remains one of the
least explored or understood elements of the Amazon ecology. In an age when
few places on earth are left unexplored this is an exciting prospect!
This is just a tiny brief introduction to what is a massive, multi-faceted
project I have been planning for a year. There are tons of reasons for what
im doing and there will be tons of things that will result from the project,
far to many to start mentioning.
Being a rather large and ambitious project involving a lot of equipment,
travel, permits, medicals, research station costs and one of the most
formidable and unforgiving environments of earth, this project will rank at
in the pricer of brackets (far above the usual shoe string i do everything
else on, like the first Alleluya Noise Festival, an 8 day festival with 60
artists (who all got payed) done on about $300) and at this stage the
project is %100 independently self funded, so in other words, im going to
have to get real used to catching piranha's for breakfast, lunch and dinner
:)
so in an attempt to save myself from suc a drastically dire diet (and other
life threatening prospects of being broke in the Amazon jungle with nothing
but some microphones:) i've decided to organise a concert (which im pretty
good at doing) to help raise some dosh.
I think it's a worthy cause for you to give me your money and I also feel
that even if you hate me and the project then the show is still going to be
excellent value for money regardless ☺ so, please come along, help me
achieve my crazy nonsense alive and hopefully enjoy yourself doing so!!!

Best
