In the year 2000 the first call was going online. Cause and effect from the outside was hurricane Lothar and its cataclysmic damages. Subsequent to the first exposition, digital documentation enabled further expositions. Locations: Years: Rathaus – Pavillon Pforzheim 2003 Bundesumweltministerium Bonn 2004 „namu“ Bielefeld 2006 St. Jakobikirche Hildesheim 2006 Umweltbundesamt Dessau 2008 We have been working on this project for seven years and are setting up new conceptions of our common expos now! In the year 2006 the presentation took place in the Bielefeld Museum of Natural History called “namu” and in the church of St Jakob, Hildesheim. As an interface between art and science the “namu” is predestined as an opportunity for our aesthetical investigation in trees and woods as well as their benefit and exploitation. It is also the proper place to point out the enormous significance of each tree´s microcosm and the worldwide green belts formed by woods. The exposition´s concept shall meet the actual situation. These actualities are reflected by means of different constallations. From the beginning we felt obliged to connect art and ecology! So we wrote statements about nature, especially in relation to trees and woods. Spectators are offered the possibility to interact. We use digital and traditional mediad to show the implementation of individual intentions. In human relationship to nature and explicitly to trees there seems to be an increasing tendency to dispose of natural resources in a ruthless way. Meanwhile society has discovered the cruel possibility to manipulate natural things to an inconceivable extent. For years we have been experiencing an intensification of breeding. What has been nature in the past today is done and organized by factories automatically. Individual and natural being will pass - in future there will be just synthetics. Therefore we feel responsible and positive to contribute a kind of sensitive use of nature. We believe that our intensive and common work within this project called "baum.welt" will reach the people. An amazing diversity of approaches concerning the subject of ecology and art becomes obvious. Since 2006 happend a lot of diversification in the staff and consequential modification of the presentation! the last baum.welt v was shown this year 2008 in the UBA DESSAU from may to july. -- ____________________________________________________________ helen varley jamieson: creative catalyst [email protected] http://www.creative-catalyst.com http://www.avatarbodycollision.org http://www.upstage.org.nz http://www.writerfind.com/hjamieson.htm ____________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________ Ada_list mailing list [email protected] http://aotearoadigitalarts.org.nz/
