Dear FriendsYou are warmly invited to the opening of Hollywood Mon Amour – Glamour Portraits from the collection of Keri De Carlo .
It's a new year, well February already, and it's time for the first exhibition of 2009 here at the Film Archive. We're kicking things off in a rather stylish way! Bring your Grannies, Aunties, Mums and Dads, friends and family to this one. It's a bit of hoot.
Hollywood Mon Amour – Glamour Portraits from the collection of Keri De Carlo is a collection of signed film star photographs. Comprised mostly of actresses whose heyday was in the 1930s and 40s, many faces are recognisable from Hollywood’s ‘golden era’. Vivien Leigh shot to fame as southern belle Scarlett O'Hara in the epic drama Gone with the Wind (1938), Judy Garland claimed the role of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz (1939). Other famous faces include Marilyn Monroe, Loretta Young and Greta Garbo.
