Fwd for Carol Brown :) Pā Collective, in association with Auckland Arts Festival, present a live art event at the crossroads of time.
We invite you to join us at the Pah Homestead, TSB Wallace Arts Centre, 72 Hillsborough Road, Hillsborough, Auckland for our premier season of PAH. Working collaboratively, we have created a truly inter-disciplinary event. Live performance, music, painting, and photography come together through a choreography of relations, between people, land and place. Exploring hidden histories and revealing forgotten secrets, PAH will take you on a journey, inside and outside one of New Zealand's largest colonial heritage houses and through the grounds of Monte Cecilia Park, formerly known as Whataroa Pā. An original score, composed by Arts Foundation Laureate Gillian Whitehead, is played live by Katherine Hebley, Andrew Uren and Luca Manghi and animated by five exceptional performers - Kelly Nash, Nancy Wijohn, Emilia Rubio, Zahra Killeen-Chance and Haanz Fa'avae Jackson - directed by Carol Brown. The work moves through an installation of paintings specially created for PAH by Star Gossage with curatorial assistance by Grant Hall. Design is by Sean Coyle and dramaturgy is by Fiona Graham. Solomon Mortimer’s photographs, developed in collaboration with the Monte Cecilia Housing Trust, of people whose lives have been affected by the current Auckland housing crisis completes the installation. PAH comes alive for six evenings only as part of Auckland Arts Festival Close Encounters, 10-15th March. The exhibition and sound installation (designed by Russell Scoones) will continue at the Pah Homestead until 19th April. White Night Event: Sat 14 March 8-10pm including artist talk. Performance Times: Tues 10, Thurs 12 & Fri 13 March 7.00pm; Wed 11 March 6.00pm; Sat 14 & Sun 15 March 5.00pm. Tickets are limited so please book in advance.
