www.bit.ly/Ataata2016<http://www.bit.ly/Ataata2016> Join us to hear Grégory Chatonsky and Goliath Dyèvre discuss their recent works and share their AUT residency project. Selected as the 2016 Te Ataata Creative Technologies Artist Residency recipients, Grégory and Goliath form an artist-designer - duo of researchers who's works focus on the relationship between materiality and digital in the contemporary context of the post-digital. The collaboration between design and art will question the uses and their limitations. Their new research creation project 'The augmentation of things' aims to build objects that are simultaneously in two worlds, tangible and virtual. In each world the object is incomplete, it is only when the two meet that it makes sense. Grégory Chatonsky is a hyperproductive artist and academic with many exhibitions, qualifications and awards to his name. A pioneer of net art, Chatonsky founded the Incident.net net art platform in 1994. Chatonsky works on the relationship between existence and technology, exploring the underlying structures of everyday technology to create variable and endless fictions. His work often deals with the technological catastrophes facing our culture, previous works have questioned the difference between public and private, real and virtual, fluid and constant, through works that trouble or disorient viewers. Visit Chatonsky's website to explore his extensive range of work and past projects. Goliath Dyèvre is an award winning designer based in Paris. He uses 3D printing extensively in his designs, and has even printed replicas of human bones. Dyèvre works with galleries and museums as well as commercial clients including Hermes. He has taught at Beaux Arts in Lyon, and is a regular external examiner at ENSCI, Ecole Boule and the Beaux Arts of St-Etienne. Visit Dyèvre's website to explore his work and past projects.
