Maata Wharehoka, Inahaa Te Urutahi Waikerepuru, Tonga Karena and Glen Skipper will all present at the SCANZ2018: Peace, Water, Power hui February 12th and 13th 2018. Peace, Water and Power are important topics nationally and globally and it is important that the voice of tangata whenua is heard on these issues. The four speakers have a significant level of cultural and professional expertise. The first day of the hui commences in Te Niho at Parihaka. Day two includes a walking symposium revealing the tangata whenua, historical, geological and fluvial layers entwined in a local river. Creative contributions on the hui topics will be integrated throughout. We are seeking proposals of the following type, drawn from a range of disciplines and on diverse topics related to the themes. The hui-symposium is intercultural and interdisciplinary.
