Dear Helen and Raewyn, (Raewyn, Neural is still alive and kicking after 25 years, and never paused or stopped :-) ).
Beyond your great work, a few more artists from New Zealand have been featured over the years, like, for example, Radioqualia, interviewed in Neural #23 - Hacking the Air, or, more recently, Julian Priest, interviewed in Neural #55 - Incovenient Utopias. In Neural #32 we published a short report on new media art in New Zealand (after a beautiful short tour in a few cities) and a review of the seminal Aotearoa Digital Arts Reader book. Furthermore, in our Neural Archive project (http://archive.neural.it) you can search publications featuring New Zealand artists, too. Finally, Massey University library is the first one in New Zealand who is going to acquire all the Neural back issues in English (hope more libraries will do the same in the future). I hope this makes sense on this list and doesn’t sound as boring self-promotion. It is just to prove that we definitely recognise the importance and history of media art in New Zealand. We try to be attentive on it, and would even love to investigate more at some point.
