I am using various media approaches on the principle that if possible, we want to save the wetland with media rather than taking the legal route which is what people here seem to think is the only option if council misbehave. We live in a poor area and it seems ... more and more ... that councils expect people to give up. We would be broke by now if we had hired lawyers — it seems wearing people down by shifting the goalposts is a main tactic by councils here. Instead, we have learned a lot about how in New Zealand land is not really protected so we want to change things ... we keep thinking, who gets a chance to save an urban wetland that is small and local (our backyard) ... and so to the tactical ...
