I'll take that as a compliment :) By the way, regarding display: have you considered voice-only output? I'd say that is the cheapest and the least cumbersome option, and not at all incompatible with command line programs. Where did you think of putting your visual display? Head-mounted? Wrist strap? A PDA's screen can do well with the second.
