Well let me elaborate a bit. Me thinks it all depends on the nature of the
services your provide.

1. If you are an ISV you need to be close to your markets, at least within
delivery range and support range. There is nothing better then the personal
touch when dealing with clients, you tend to get paid faster and more
promptly.

2. If you are an OEM, then the ony thing that matters is the just in time
delivery of parts and shipping/expediting of product. Depends entirely on
your access to transportation corridors.

3. If you are a development house/software then you can be located anywhere as
long as you have a fast pipe to the office/home/barn/well and a reasonable
power source.

4. If you are a network/sysadmin/etc/etc/ shop, then you need to be close to
your clients only if you are concerned withrespect to payment and the nature
of your client base. Remote admin supported by local contractors is entirely
possible feasible and quite doeable.

5. Remote needs to be defined. Some folks not in downtown TO consider
Mississauga remote. Its a matter of business needs that are entirely based on
client needs.
