John,
I think we need a little more information in order to be able to help. You
ask for a 'DV' that will save to SD cards.
In the sense that this list normally thinks of DV we are referring to a
specific system which uses recording to quarter inch tape cassettes
conforming to the DV spec. DV in this sense does not mean general 'digital
video'.
There are DV cameras which will record short sequences to flash memory cards
but the quality of the picture is nowhere near as good as the pictures
recorded to tape and, since video consumes enormous amounts of memory, the
sequences can only be short. Probably not what you want.
Why do you want to record to SD card?
All PAL cameras will have a standard shutter speed of 1/50th of a second but
can usually be set for a faster shutter speed if required. Some very cheap
models may not be able to be set manually. Your information is not very
specific about what sort of shutter speeds you need.

In the Subject line you appear to be looking for a camera for under GBP 200.
You are unlikely to find any DV camera (new) for this price. You also appear
to be asking for a camera which runs at a speed greater than 25fps. You
should be aware that all domestic PAL cameras run at 25fps +/- nothing. For
higher frames per second rates you need highly specialised (and highly
expensive) equipment where your GBP 200 budget would not even pay the daily
rental cost.

On the question of a suction mounting cup you can try Keene Electronics
(www.keene.co.uk) (0870 990 9000) or, for a range of interesting camera
support systems, try Hague Camera Supports (www.b-hague.co.uk) (0115 987
0031).
Remember that when mounting the camera you should ensure that the camera has
a safety rope to 'catch' it if the suction pad fails. Don't forget also that
if you use just one suction pad mounting point the body panel of the vehicle
is liable to flex and cause your camera to vibrate excessively. Consider
also placing a protection in front of the lens to avoid the lens being
soiled by grit thrown up by the tyre.

If you can describe more fully what you are needing we may be able to help
but remember that this is an editing Group and your question is really about
camera problems. You might find one of the camera-based Yahoo Groups to be
more knowledgeable (e.g. [EMAIL PROTECTED]).

There are digital STILL cameras which will shoot short 'video' sequences and
save them on their flash memory cards (such as SD cards) but again these
sequences are usually short and the frame rate is often slow even if the
shutter speed is fast. Since you mentioned 'filming' it would seem that such
a camera would be unsuitable. Again your budget is unrealistic.

If you can explain more precisely what you want to do and the limitations
you have then someone may be able to help further.
