Wouldn't it be easier and simpler to import the Targa sequence back into
Premiere as a sequence of numbered stills, instead of just a bunch of
separate stills? Then, there'd be no need to automate to timeline, since
Premiere essentially makes the sequence into a clip automatically. Just
click the box labeled "Numbered Stills" at the bottom of the Import window.

Now after you've made all your corrections (300 files for each Actor = 600!)
Go into Premiere, make your project settings as normal...
>Import>Folder>Actor 1 Seq-Final... **** SET YOUR STILL IMAGE Settings to 1
frame... >Edit>Preferences. Now Select your Folder in the Bin, select
>Edit>Automate to Timeline>Whole Bin>Placement Sequencially>Insert at
Begining>Clip Overlap 0 Frames, uncheck anything to do with Transitions...
ok now you have all your color corrected frames in sequencial order... ready
to export to a .avi or .mov... don't use any compression on export. Repeat
this for Actor #2.

Now you can make your final project and use the color corrected video files
you just made.
