There is a difference of opinion between Adobe and Dell as to which version
of driver I should use. Nvidia driver is 5.3.0.3 driver date 17/11/2003.

Are you familiar with which driver version Adobe AE should have?

Thanks.

This is very strange, since XP doesn't need a driver voor your tft monitor.
So AFX wont notice there is an other monitor in use. Have you tried the
latest Nvidia-drivers?
