<<Hi Jeff!
They do?
I've used them on several occasions, but I've halted the use because I've
heard excactly this.
You've experienced it?>>

-----I have not experienced it personally because I always suspected it from
the get go.

It's paper...paper always finds a way to come loose....it's also glue, and
lord KNOWS glue
can do all sorts of evil things when exposed to enough heat.
It's a binder and binders always manage to cause lower binder layers to come
up.
It's an unbalanced mass and unbalanced masses get quite evil when they find
themselves
spinning at eight thousand RPM.

I've had dozens of clients come to me wanting to know why a certain CD or
DVD no longer plays,
and when they bring it to me there's always some sort of label on the disc.

I have ONE DVD/CD-ROM unit that I allow labelled discs to be used in.
It's a piece of junk but it's apparently very forgiving.
If I get lucky I can extract the data from the offending disc and copy the
data onto a fresh
disc for the client and make some pretty good cash in the deal.

I stuff a brand new Sharpie pen in their shirt pockets and then
I send them on their way after telling them to "go and sin no more".

Labels kill discs...no question about it.

PS: What's worse.....REMOVING LABELS.....that kills them even more.
