With the Sony FZ1, you select in the camera what type of 1394 output you want (HD or SD). You also select how you want to convert from 16:9 to 4:3 (cropping, scaling, etc). The SD timecode is the same as the HD, so you could use your NLE list from Pro to work with the HD or SD material.
