Sorry for the snobbish reply, but PC's just plain make sense these days. I totally understand one's affection for the OS one grew up on. Adobe is a smart company heading in a strong direction regarding video. If you could give it (PPro) a 'longevity rating' of sorts, that number would look better than many other editing apps these days.
The mac has many lives. Many of them have been spent. Can they retain their following as they move to a different chip? Unknown. Perhaps less sure than ever before. I work at a college. We're a wireless campus, and PC-based. You don't see many Powerbooks around here. Salt Lake City area. We do offer FCP and Premiere Pro training, but the numbers of macs in our labs have been shrinking. It's gotten to the point that there's no solid reason, based on software alone, to bite into the apple. Thanks to everyone who replied! It confirms what I suspected. John - I tried to convince her to stick with a PC, but I might as well have tried to convince the lawn to mow itself. Oh well, as long as her dad is paying for it..... RR --- In [email protected], "Rick" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > My step-daughter just received an Apple Powerbook G4.
