I think the original poster wanted to know what format your original/source
video would be in. (Not necessarily the final destination format.) The
reason is, an onboard ieee-1394 port, or add-on card for $20, would only be
able to capture from a camera with ieee-1394 ("DV" for all intents and
purposes). But if you needed to copy from analog formats such as VHS, 8mm,
etc., then you would need to purchase a different card with those specific

I would like to create "How-To Clinics" for various model train projects and create CD's with interactive menu's and such.
