Negative!!!! DVCAM records at a slightly different tape pitch, that, in effect makes it record at a higher speed, thus making the tape record for a shorter duration. Standard 60 minute Mini-DV tapes will only record for 40 minutes in the DVCAM format, while a 60 minute DVCAM tape will run for around 80 minutes in the regular DV format. Other than that, the tape stock for regular DV and DVCAM is identical and interchangeable.
