Just so I understand correctly. AVI Format will give me an
uncompressed file format that Premiere Pro will be able to use to
edit properly.

My next question is, can I "convert" the file, using Premiere Pro to
another format that does not take up as much space after I "Import"
it into Premiere Pro? In other words, can I open up an AVI Format
File in Premiere Pro than Save it in another File Format?

Hard Drive space is not as much of an issue if I can do that,
because I have a "dedicated" 250 Gig SATA300 Drive for recording and
saving video files. I just hope I can save the files in a different
format so they won't take as much space.

Thanks again!

Ken L.
