Well, I've tried everything, and still get this awful "vibrating" "sparkly"
whatever-you-call-it stuff. It seems strange that when I use a low-budget
editing program I don't have this problem, only with Premiere.
Unfortunately, I need to use Premiere, though, because I need all the
multiple tracks and audio effects.

If anyone gets any further ideas, please let me know.

Thanks to all for your suggestions. I'll keep trying!

Jean

pixel lines will 'vibrate' when shown on your TV. Using 'blur' will reduce
these effects. You could also test your images and then go into photoshop
and 'blur' just the problem areas.

made a slide show in which I use a lot of pan and zoom. On almost every
slide there is this awful sparkling along certain lines, for example on
people's eyeglass frames, any jewelry around the neck, or even patterns on
clothing--a plaid shirt for instance. It looks like those parts are
"electrified" and shimmer like they are moving or something.

far: deinterlace in pre-processing, flicker removal, optimize stills. I
don't know what else I can try. My movies come out so nice except for this
annoying thing. A simple thing like a sweater with a knitted pattern can
come out looking like it is made of metallic thread that sparkles!
