My neighbourhood Blockbuster store uses circular lint-free pads for disk
cleaning. I use lint-free cloths that also work on monitor screens. You
probably know to start from the centre and wipe to the edge, never circular
motion. If your work place is dry you'll have more trouble thanks to static
electricity attracting dust. I don't know how it penetrates the closed
cases but it does.

After experiencing a lot of trouble with the technical side of burning
DVDs (I figured that one out - thankfully), I'm now having issues with
a mudane problem: lint and dust on DVDs.
I always keep the cases closed for my DVD pack, but often when I get a
new one out to burn, it is already dirty. When I go to clean it (with
all kids of sprays and rags/cloth that I bought at CompUSA), it often
acquires more lint in the process! I just can't seem to keep the dang
things clean or if I manage to clean and burn one, then it collects
more lint and can cause the DVD to skip in my (sensitive) player. Any
advice or tips to share?
