Hello Jeff,
I like what you said about "That's a good question"
I do some one on one training and phone support for Premiere Pro and love it
when someone asks a question I have open up PPro and fiddle around a bit to
get them the answer. It just makes me that much more knowledgable.
I had an interesting situation come up last week. I was asked how to bring a
lower third that had an alpha gradient into the PPRo titler. Well I thought
I new the answer...."just right click in the tiltle and select logo and
import the file"
Ah! not so grasshopper. The titler only recognized the pure white part of
the alpha for transparancy. the gray gradient part of the alpha was treated
as if it were black. Tried it with several images, same result. Anyhow, the
work around was to draw a full screen rectangle and use the graphic as a
texture for the fill. The alpha keyed perfectly with the gradient fading
from opaque to transparent. That took some time to figure out but in the end
I felt good about being to get it to work and I know I won't forget it.
Best Regards,
A Fan
