Hello Sune,
I am using a pair of 19" LCD monitors and a LCD TV as a program monitor. I
do a lot of onsite work with my system so it is moved around quite a bit and
a crt production monitor is just too bulky to transport. I own a Sony 16:9
production monitor that was quite expensive but as I said it is heavy and
bulky. The things that I recommend to my clients when they are purchasing
dual commputer monitors is to look for a narrow bezel around the monitor, if
it is narrow enough your eye will almost ignore the space between when you
have a long timeline stretching across both monitors and that the controls
are not on the side of the bezel so you can access them when the monitors
are placed side by side. As far as the specs, resolution, contrast ration
and brightness are important to me, refresh rate that would be important to
a gamer is not as critical for video editing. I know the LCD TV is not color
accurate like a production monitor so I use it basically to preview edits
and composition and not have to squint to see Premiere's preview monitor, I
rely on the scopes to make sure my video is broadcast legal. Dual monitors
is the way to go, speeds up work and is much more efficient.
