Thnks Tom for bringing up a subject that I have some questions about too.
I've seen allot of talk [considering this is a pro-am group] here
about the hype of 16:9 and I was wondering why it seems so imperative,
to allot of people here at the group, that using HD is so important
and a must have? BTW I'd like a good debate on this.

Here is my two cents to start off;
I've done allot of work in STD and found that being able to crop a 4:3
to 16:9 gave me more possibilities in my editing, especially when
using a cameraman who is shooting on the fly [events]. As an amateur
group here I would think it was the editing that would be the most
important part of your work and experience, not the camera specs.
