Hello Julian,
Jeff did not say that Premiere Pro 1.5,2.0 does not support Batch Capture
but that there is no longer a Batch Capture file.
Batch Capture is performed by logging clips in the capture window which are
then show as offline in the Project Window.
Batch capture is under the File menu or F6, it will batch capture offline
files that are selected in the Project window.
Of interesting note, I used to use Batch capture exclusivley with
dpsVelocity but I now find it is quicker and easier to use scene detect,
capture the whole tape and sort out my usable clips in Premiere rather than
going thru the tape and logging them before capture. One thing that makes
this possible are large inexpensive Hard Drives. Back in the Velocity days I
only had about 14Gigs total of video storage space (this much storage cost
about $3000 then) and you had to be very carefull not to capture anymore
than you were going to use.
Regards,
Richard Peoples
