I've found that this works best for me:
* Use the equalizer filter to cut out frequencies below 200 Hz and
above 3000 Hz.
* Install a free VST plug-in from Bojo
<http://www.bojo-software.com/?Software:VST_plugins:FX_plugin_pack>
Software . The one you need is the Ringmodulator. Once installed, edit the
audio with the plug-in and set the Mod. Freq. slider to about 300 Hz. This
makes the audio sound like the Single Sideband (SSB) transmissions used in a
lot of military communications.
* Between audio transmissions from the copter, drop the audio level.
Most military and commercial two-way radios use a squelch
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squelch> to suppress the audio of the
receiver. Use a sharp rise time at the beginning of each transmission.

Hope this helps,

Edward,

This is usually done through EQ. Try pulling the lows out, and raising
some of the upper mid frequencies. Play around with it till you find
something you like.
