I'm about to do the same thing, and this is what I would recommend as
far as the learning curve goes. Get the Total Training instructional
DVDs. They are outstanding & will immediately pay for themselves in
the time saved fighting through the curve. I bought the series for
6.5, and then immediately bought the set for After Effects after I saw
how good they were. I know different people learn & retain information
in different ways, but these really worked for me.
