Hi all!
I am sorry if this is totally off-topic but I've chosen to let no stone be
unturned.
A local TV station has hired me as a freelancer the last couple of months to
do news segments. I have now done aprox 50 of these but I am not satisfied
with my own work.
I've never gone to any school dealing with journalism and I have no
prospects of going to one in the near future. I find these assignments to be
sometimes way over my head and I feel I need to self-educate myself on the
subject.
Are any of you guys/gals in the field? Are there any books you would
recommend?
My business is quite prosperous so I have more than this leg to stand on,
but I would rather not waste this opportunity to learn the tv-language the
hard way. They've given me the position of producer of some political
meetings, which I am really proud of. So, this would mean that I'm doing a
proper job, but I am sure that I could do much better.
So, what do you say?
Any books, or better yet, videos, on the subject of creating news segments?
Oh, I am also covering sports as well.
Kind regards from Norway
