I finished a couple of short video pieces in SD from footage I shot
on an HDV camcorder. I down-converted the footage in the camcorder to
store on the computer in SD and I edited it using Premiere Pro 2.0. I
now have the opportunity to show the pieces in HDV, so I'd like to
capture the same clips and HDV and generate an HDV version of the pieces.
What I'm hoping is that there's a simple method in Premiere of
converting an SD production to an HDV production. Here's what I hope works:
1. Create a new production in HDV format (1080i, 29.97 fps).
2. Import the SD production.
3. Unlink all the video clips.
4. Use Batch Capture to recapture all the clips in HDV.
5. Render the production.
6. Export the production to my HDV camcorder.
This assumes that Premiere will forget the resolution of each clip
when it's unlinked to a file and that all the transitions and video
effects will work the same in HDV as they did for SD.
Has anyone done anything similar to this? Any tips or cautions before
I proceed to put time into this?
