I too would be interested in hearing about your sharing of the
project, and how you accomplish the "work flow".

If you each have copies of the raw material (videos, stills, etc.) in
the same named file locations, then the easy way to share is to only
send the Project file without the raw data, and re-name it with the
time and date before sending it on.

The problems arise when you are working simultaneously on the files
and concatenating (meshing the changes together) can become difficult.

The experience we have at this is coordinating the musical scoring
with the movie. Our solution was to begin with a Concept track for the
musicians to build up small modules like stingers, intros, and outros.
Then We came to a "soft-time-lock" where the concept was still a
little flexible in length. Following that we did a "Time-lock" where
the length and content of the video is fixed, and only transitions, or
substitutions, and color correction will be done. 

This is more than you asked, but maybe it'll help.
