I bought three of these dollies at Home Depot. They're about six inches across.
I put one under each leg of the tripod and can move smoothly and quietly around a little bit... it's certainly not as mobile as the one you showed... it can't walk from room to room following a subject. I will try to build a stabilizer... thank you very much for the tip. P.S.: if the photo is not in this email, I'll post it at www.essenfeld.com/dolly.jpg in a little while. ----- Original Message ----- From: Gregg Eshelman To: [email protected] Sent: Saturday, December 22, 2007 3:47 AM Subject: Re: [AP] A new video from a new videomaker for your comments, please... --- Paul Essenfeld <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Thank you for your comments, Jack... > > You're right, of course... the hand-held work was > very jerky and I've learned not to do that anymore. > I always use a tripod now and sometimes mix in > stills for variation. A simple handheld stabilizer is easy to make. Google for diy camera stabilizer Here's a super simple version. http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/steadycam/ Several people have constructed their own counter-balanced, articulated arms that work just like (or even better than) a genuine Steadi-Cam. __________________________________________________________ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo!
