About 6 months ago I did a video titled ANAK ("Child" in Filipino.
This video is in loving
memory of my wife's younger brother Ronnie. He was a very poor
Filipino eking out a living but living a very happy life. He was so
full of life and always willing to help others. He helped so many that
he forgot to help himself when he fell deathly ill. He was being taken
to the hospital when the tricycle driver was forced to turn back as he
had no lights (ironic), by the time he turned back and they
transferred him to another tricycle it was too late. This happened as
we were coming upon the Christmas time. My wife and I had not yet
moved to Roxas City, for if we had perhaps we could have changed the
outcome. Perhaps not. This video shows the young, the old, the hardened, the happy and the sad. I feel it's an appropriate video to show at Christmas time. To remind us there are millions of children out their and we must feel the obligation and compassion to help where we can. Many of you know the power and satisfaction filming people and then making something out of it to show or to them as a finished product. It is so rewarding to watch them as they watch what you have done with the pictures and or video cam. Now there is nothing special about this video, no fancy transitions, no special effects. It's a very basic video but what is does convey is a message how precious life is and how we should do all we can to learn as much as we can in this (as I call it) amateur video making that is now available for us. We can now document and create something that a few years back was impossible unless you were with the movie industry. It's really a great time we live in and with a simple camera you can put together memorable moments. Moments that no amount of "home video" or still shots could convey. Hope you enjoy. This is not meant to offend anyone here, only to entertain who ever you are and where ever you are during this holiday time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8xGidBEal8 Jerry Lames Yahoo!
