Hi Keith:
Yes it is a delight to use dual monitors, and fairly easy to do so
with your system. See that you have two video outputs on the video
card! Or, you may need to add another video card to drive the "New"
monitor. This may be a good idea to plan for, as it may speed up your
response time. Try what you've got first, spend more money later.
Forget about using the firewire monitor for now, the latency/time
shift will always be different from what you see on your computer
monitors,and make you crazy.
By the way, you want to "span" two monitors, or "extend desktop to
both monitors", when you configure them. Having the same thing on both
is pointless.
One "Gotcha" is that some of the new "wide screen" monitors have a
resolution that is not supported by your old video card (you won't see
the bottom of the page without scrolling). So that should be
considered when you buy the monitor, and possibly the new video card.
