You're showing excerpts from three weddings in one video - is this to be a
promotion for Family Focus Video, or are these just excerpts of three
projects you're working on? I ask because the treatment would be different
in each case.

The biggest problem with the finished product is the absence of sufficient
video to work with. Notice how many unique shots are in the example from
Taky, and notice the emphasis on human interest and how things were worked
in to tell the story. (They do some nice camera movements that you won't be
able to replicate, but that is OK). It's not unusual for me to have 20-100GB
from which I'll keep only seconds or minutes, but one has to take the shots
in the first place to have them available during editing.

Given what you have to work with in Premiere Pro in this case, though, there
still are a couple of tactics you can consider.

1. There is no audio from the video for Erin. If you have it, consider
including it at least as an undertone to the music like you did for Nichol.
It doesn't have to be 100% intelligible under the music but it would be
better than the silent-film look when Erin is talking.

2. The Spruce Point Inn awning shot should be limited to maybe 1-2
secs, and the video pan of it should be shortened. The viewer needs only a
glimpse of the building to understand that the following video is at that
location.

3. During Nicol's the music is noticeably turned down when she talks,
which is pointless since the viewer doesn't have to understand what was said
because it doesn't add to the story; you're simply letting the viewer know
only that something is said.

4. Avoid far away shots like those of Nichol, you can't get audio (or
facial expressions) from that distance. If you're going to do video, get up
where the action is.

5. Ingrid's is basically a photo show but there should have been more
photos with faster transitions.

6. It's best to not transition to black between photos, a cross fade
would be better.

7. To get an idea of what can be done with photos, download
Microsoft's Photo Story (it's free), load into it all the Ingrid photos you
have, and let it make a show with its random default except set the time to
2 seconds, not the default 5 seconds. Now watch the show. Notice how Photo
Story does pan and zoom on the photos to make the show more interesting.
It's default won't be useable with every photo (zoom accuracy may miss) and
you'll want to vary the dwell times, but you can emulate that technique in
Premiere Pro to make your show more interesting.

Next time you do a wedding my advice is to take lot's of batteries, take
well-framed videos continually and creatively throughout the event (some of
that footage might be B-Roll, (see http://en.wikipedia .org/wiki/ B-roll), use
an add-on camera mic on each camera, and most importantly, use a tripod
equipped with a fluid-head. Then when you get to Premiere Pro you'll have
much more to work with.

Hoping this helps .

Lee
