There's a way around that. Use some other program to demux the audio and video 
into separate streams then import only the video streams into AP.

There's plenty of free apps for Windows, Linux and OS X that can do demuxing.

Try a google for MPEG demux

I use VirtualDub or VirtualDubMOD for Windows. VDMOD handles some formats the 
other doesn't, but development lags behind VirtualDub. There's plenty of info 
on the web about using it, but the main thing to remember is to set both Video 
and Audio to Direct Stream Copy. The program *always* defaults to Full 
Processing each session and AFAIK there's no way to change that default.

I've also found doing a direct stream copy to a new copy with the streams still 
muxed, can often resolve weird problems with some videos.
