Here is the only picture of the video camera I have on my computer and here it sits on the tripod. The camera is way to big for one of those DYI steady cams gagets There's no way I could hold all that weight without my shoulder. Sorry for the blur but it was taken in a rush with my cheap phone long time ago. You can see the focus cable hanging from the front part of the lens that's the fitting I was referring to. Not sure if the lens can handle being used to support the weight. Or even if it should be.
