My advice for a new camcorder is the new Panasonic GH2 though. It's a DSLR with amazing HD video capabilities and probably has the best image quality / price ratio. The GH2 records to AVCHD though and that is still an issue for Premiere I believe, but it's also possible to record the HDMI output to an external recorder from which can be imported to the Premiere timeline directly.
