I'm pretty sure you are installing a completely independent version (CS5) -
I believe CS4 will remain untouched. However, it might not be in your best
interest to install only Premiere unless you never intend to use dynamic
link. I think I've read that CS5 will not link to CS4 components, that it is
hardwired to find CS5 components (which includes Photoshop and Encore).

Hello again:
i have the disc to install cs5 finally. can i just install premiere from the
cs5 master collection (without photoshop,encore,etc)? and can i leave the
whole cs4 suite on the same pc?
and related- am i upgrading from v4 to 5, or am i installing a separate
instance of premiere? i think i'd prefer to do it that way, at least at
first, til i know what i'm dealing with as far as v5 goes.
