Lee, Thank you so much. I got tips from Creative Cow to make sure that my file is in RGB and my preference has Maximize Compatibility selected as "always". And finally it worked! Thought the other group members would like to know in case they ran into the same problem I had.

Also, assuming there is sufficient memory and that the psd is good, something worth trying is simply copying the psd file to another location and trying again.
