South Africa is PC country. Yes, some people are using Macs but I only
know of
one who is using FCP. He is happy with it and it is very stable but he
also has the odd
problem.
You wrote you are using CS3. I never used it and went from PRO2 to CS4
which worked
reasonably well but CS5 is much more stable now and they seem to have
sorted out most
problems, also with Encore. Right now I open a project and do my thing.
My only problem is my "vintage" computer and I can not edit native
AVCHD. For the time
being I am converting my clips with Cineform Neoscene and editing is
very smooth.
I will stick with Premiere and also like all the other very good Adobe
programs like
Photoshop, Encore, Soundbooth, After Effects etc. Don't know which
equivalent
programs you would need with FCP and Mac to be able to do the same.

And Mike, who says your problem was caused by Premiere? Could have been a
Windows or other problem as well.

Have a nice weekend
Uwe
