Thanks for the feedback. I do have a GTX 285 that's CUDA enabled and I'm using
the Mercury playback engine. I'll experiment with removing the time code window
effect to see what happens. I have edited high-def before and not had a problem
- but none of the other projects has had this much material. Had a strange
hiccup on one clip - it had been showing yellow, but during one of the pauses I
described it went red and I had to render it. Cheers, Steve
