Apple doesn't have something like a register like Windows has which 
makes it much less risky to install many programs next to each other, 
right? As long as you don't start the program it doesn't get loaded 
in the register or file system etc, is that correct?

The only program that I couldn't stop loading automatically when 
starting up my Apple was Skype. Which I then removed from my hard 
drive and never will install on my Mac again.
