This is something that I too must deal with. The need is to create recovery
instructions for all servers being backed up to TSM. We have well over 100
servers that need to have data collected.

My first thought is to enlist/solicit the input of all the server admins.
Some will cooperate and some will duck the issue.

For WindowsNT, I have toyed with the winmsdp command to gather hardware
information. It is a lot of information and may need trimmed down, but it is
a start. This does not help with software configuration.  Still need the
admin to sit down and document the server.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Has anyone done this before? I'm willing
to join forces to come up with a solution. Help is most wanted.
