Sorry in my last question I don't think I was specific enough.
I've install a 3494 library on my TSM server. The server runs on a Sun e10000k
I've defined the library to the server calling it 3494lib
I have 2 3590 drives in the library. I've read the manual where it states to run the "
ls -la /dev/rmt" command, here is my output.

I'm trying to define the device now using the following command: "def drive 3494lib
rmt1 device=9st"
I get the following reply: ANR8420E DEFINE DRIVE: An I/O error occurred while
accessing drive RMT1.
ANS8001I Return code 3.
I think that there is something wrong with "device=9st"
Can anyone shed any light?
