Hi John,
Does not work like that on an upgrade.
You do not restore the database, unlless you are are aborting the upgrade and
going
back to your old version.
You would just start with the "upgradedb" parameter.
Simple process, should all be explained in the quick start manual you should get
with your software upgrade.

Am I missing something?  Is there some doubt that one can restore a backed-up,
say, ADSM 3.1.2 data base to TSM 4.1?

That would be catastrophic for us!  How else could we migrate?
