Hello WIZs,
It has happened again. Last time it happened on 16/1/2001 and the Full
Database had to be restored back. This time also, the whole DB was
restored in order to bring the server to the normal situation.
Description : ADSM Server not starting
When I manually run 'dsmserv' command , it just stucks with the
messages displayed as following:

I have waited for Half an Hour and there seemd to be no disk activity.
I have checked dsmserv.dsk and it was found to be OK. I tried with
'dsmserv extend log <log file name> 401mb, but in vain. Ultimately DB was
restored which took 7 Hrs.
When we restore the DB, it firsts formats the recoery log. Is there any
way I can format the recovery logs without going in for restoring back the
full DB.?
Our Database size is : 76 GB
OS : AIX 4.3
TSM Version : 3.7.3.0
Any hint would be greatly appreciated. IBM's first suggestion is to upgrade
the version.
