Hi.

I would like to hear from someone who is working the same way as i am
working, and i will tell you how i am working in a sec, but first i will
describe my environment:

I have a E220R server with 2 450Mhz CPU and 2Gb memory, with 2*36Gb
disks, running TSM 4.1.3,
and i have two NetApp servers, one with 150G, and one with 400Gb, as
there is no other way of backing up the NetApp (Atleast for now), i am
using NFS mounts, and backup through the backup machine (E220), the
problem i have is performance, i have about 4 million files, (small
files, a few kbytes), and what is see is that a 10Mb file takes the same
time to backup as a 1k file, the network speed is 100mbit, and the
server is connected to a fiber Giga network backbone, i am trying to
figure the best way to work, if anyone has a similar scenario, please
reply with speed statistics, because my backup is taking way too much,
although i am backing up using incremental backups, passing throw 4
million files every backup works too slow in my current configuration,

If you have any idea how to speed it up, any suggestion, please help.

Thanks.

Marco.
