Hi Zosi
It's quiet simple(or not?).
Each File 1K in the DB (don't forget how many generations!).
The Log about 10% of the DB Size, i drive a larger recovery log, near 30%,
performance & overflow!

Example:

100 Files= 100K
10% of the Files change 10K
5 Generation in the mngmntclss40K
+ 10-30% etc

In your Case with the archive to, it will be a nice DB!

Ciao

with kind regards

Joachim

Post Scriptum: You never can realy count how many of the files will be
changed!
The Unix files may take a lot of Log in the archive mode!

Betreff: What is size of ADSM database and log?

Hi All,

What is the size of the ADSM database and log to be required if you have 100
clients (75 NT and 25 Unix) with estimated disk space 3 TB.
Estimated 70 percent of that size is being backup and 40 percent of that
size is being archive.
For backup: 5 version plus 1 full backup of active files and 1 version of
the deleted files (expiration period 60 days). The estimated changes per
day is 8 percent.
For archive: 4 version of weekly archive with retention period 1 month, 1
monthly archive with retention perion 1 year.
For hsm: one unix machine with 150 GB.

Anybody can provide me an estimate size of the db and log.
